This week we had the pleasure of meeting Carolina Flores, Lisbon born, bred and based web designer and all round cool chick. We met Caroline at the dreamiest of locations; Guincho Beach - a surfer's paradise 30 minutes west of Lisbon. More specifically, we met poolside at the Muchaxo Hotel; a uniquely situated cliffside pool that gives off an eerie yet awesome 'Boogie Nights' 70s pool party vibe. We sat poolside sipping coffees and discussed life, love, music, ambitions, career and what it was like growing up in Portugal.
What was it like growing up in Lisbon? What was your childhood like?
Growing up in Lisbon was amazing! Beach all summer long, and our winters are not cold at all. I grew up in a place just outside Lisbon, next to the sea called Oeiras. It was a super chilled childhood. I spent all of my days on the street riding a bike and playing with friends!
What is your favourite part of working in the digital design industry?
My favourite part is that I have to be constantly updated about the latest digital trends which ensures I always have my eyes open to what's going on in the world.
What in your opinion is your greatest achievement?
I would have to say being very independent and supporting myself. Having an apartment of my own is also something I'm super proud of. And now I am more independent in my career and I've become a freelancer.
Have you ever failed at anything, and what did it teach you?
Of course, I've had so many failures! They all helped me to understand better the path that I’m supposed to follow and I wouldn't be where I am without them!
What social issue do you wish was more talked about?
It’s improved a lot already, but I still would like to see more 'real women' portrayed in the media and online. This issue is really important to me.
When are you happiest?
I'm happiest when I'm at the beach with my friends, at a good party with good music, and of course when I get to have dinner with my family!
Where is home, and what makes it home?
Home is my sofa with my cat and a glass of wine!
Where do you hope to see yourself in 5 years?
I hope to see myself reaching new goals and with new projects on the go. Oh and with a bigger family :)
What’s the best advice you’ve been given?
The best advice I ever got was to we take lots of risks. It’s better to regret something we attempted than to not attempt it at all. And this applies to everything: love life, work life, life in general!

hmmm nothing actually!
