We thought it was the perfect time to finally introduce the souls behind the label; the hands, the brains, the faces that keep the wheels of OhSevenDays a rollin'!
We are a proud all-female team lead by Founder Megan with the help of Başak in Operations and Comms, İrem on production, and Işıl our intern!
Get to know a bit more about us all through the fun little Q&A below!
Megan Mummery / Founder & Designer
Hey! My name is Megan Mummery I'm the founder and designer at OhSevenDays. I was born in Oakville Ontario Canada in 1987 (you can do that math). My family and I moved to Rockhampton Australia when I was 9 years old. I moved to London UK in 2011 to work and study. That's where I met my now husband Alkın. He is an Istanbul native, so we decided to take the leap and move to Turkey. We've now been living in Istanbul for 7 years!
I started OhSevenDays back in 2015 after moving to Istanbul and being uncertain about where my career path was going. After discovering a wealth of resources here in the form of dead-stock fabrics, I figured I'd start with a few samples and knock on doors to see if anyone would buy them! Around 6 years later, after many hurdles and hard lessons, the brand has bloomed into something I'm so proud to have created.
My current role is precisely what you'd imagine a typical small business 'founder' role to be; everything! You can find me working on new collection sketches, building marketing plans, writing press releases, filling in my profit and loss statement and much more.
Like everything else, this has evolved over the years and I'm sure it will continue to do so. My style closely resembles the OhSevenDays aesthetic, perhaps slightly more minimal. My current uniform consists of high waisted straight leg pants mixed with a variety of button up shirts.
WHAT KEEPS YOU BUSY OUTSIDE THE OFFICE?
I think next on my trip wishlists are both Iceland & Pakistan. My ideal holiday is throwing on a backpack and hopping on a plane with little to no planning. I love to discover new cultures more than anything.

WHAT'S YOUR CURRENT FAV TV SERIES?
The Crown (the last season). Also really into the new Bryan Cranston show Your Honor. But the news this week that there will be a new Sex & the City remake took my breathe away!
WHAT'S THE BEST PART OF YOUR JOB?
My favourite part is being able to create something from scratch. I love the process of coming up with a design in my head and seeing it through to fruition. I also love working with my team. I have such a cool, badass group of women to build my brand with, so I feel super lucky!
WHAT'S THE MOST PLAYED SONG ON YOUR PLAYLIST?
I believe last time I checked it was a tie between Bruce Springsteen - Dancing in the Dark and Blood Orange - You're not good enough.
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO ACCOMPLISH IN 2021?
- Spend more time in nature
- Improve my flexibility so I can touch my toes easily
- Get a dog!
Başak Çİm / Operations & Communications
WHO IS BAŞAK?
Hi, My name is Başak! I'm 24 and I'm born and raised in Istanbul. My education was in Communication and Design and I've been working with OhSevenDays since I graduated!
Oh, it a real mixed bag for sure! As we're a small, tight knit team, we all need to wear a number of hats and do a variety of jobs. I mostly run day to day operations of the office, manage fulfillment of orders and customer service and also work on marketing campaigns - oh and social media content and planning.
I'd say my personal style is a real mix of feminine and masculine with the overall underlying theme of comfort!
First thing in the morning I'll check my emails and respond to any customer questions. Then I check incoming orders and pack and ship them. I also manage inventory, so doing daily stock take is a regular task in my day. Then we decide what's on the menu for lunch. Felafel and hummus are commonly consumed! The afternoons are usually for marketing activities like communicating with influencers for upcoming campaigns and planning & shooting content for our social media.
IF YOU COULD LIVE OUT YOUR DAYS IN ONE OUTFIT, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
My comfy high waisted beige jeans and one of my loose vintage shirt. Pretty minimal :)
It would definitely be South West England! Ideally a seaside county like Cornwall. I love small towns, it would be a dream to spend holiday time in St Ives!
Parks and Recreation (I looove Aubrey Plaza)
I think my favourite part of my job is just the variety of the role and the ability to multitask. My job is a real mix of operational activities contrasted by really creative tasks. I always get to learn and try new things too which I love. But overall, having the most understanding sweetest boss allows for a really calm, loving and trusting environment!

İrem Yener / Production
WHO IS İREM?
Hey I’m İrem! I am from Izmir. I am 25 and I moved to Istanbul about 8 years ago to study textile engineering at ITU. I'm the newby to the OhSevenDays team.
WHAT DO YOU DO AT OHSEVENDAYS?
I am responsible for all things production related, it can be searching for fabrics or conducting wash tests, sampling new models or quality control checking freshly produced garments. Really anything that is a part of the manufacturing process.
DESCRIBE YOUR PERSONAL STYLE?
This is kind of hard to answer for me because my style changes according to my mood. If I had to explain I would say its hippie meets 90s hip-hop in a very comfy casual way.
WHAT KEEPS YOU BUSY OUTSIDE THE O7D OFFICE?
Normally, just being in nature is how I love to spend my time. Exploring, taking walks, taking photographs and listening to music.
DESCRIBE YOUR AVERAGE DAY AT THE OFFICE?
Ha, actually I’m barely at the Office! My day usually starts with going downstairs to the workshop to check on production. I do all production planning and supplying everything needed during this process; fabrics, buttons, zippers, whatever you can think of. It’s a lot of calculating, planning, running around, trying and finally succeeding!
IF YOU COULD LIVE OUT YOUR DAYS IN JUST ONE OUTFIT, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
It would be a pair of colorful baggy wide leg trousers with a really comfy sweater.
WHAT'S YOUR DREAM HOLIDAY?
My dream holiday would be anywhere with a secluded beach, some palm trees for a good shadow and a bright sun.

The Crown and Borgen are my favorites at the moment. I am also watching Brooklyn 9-9 for the fifth time?
WHAT'S THE BEST PART OF YOUR JOB?
I think the best part of it is that it is really fast which makes it very exciting. I get bored easily and I never got bored at work yet! We talk about a new style and a few minutes later I see that Megan sketched the design already, we make the pattern and if it’s our lucky day we might even get the sample done in a few hours! Seeing an idea come to life in such a short time is my favorite part of my job.
WHAT'S THE MOST PLAYED SONG ON YOUR PLAYLIST?
Its Daydream In Blue – I Monster, but the BBC Radio 2 Session version. This song can still make me feel hopeful after the worst day.
WHAT'S YOUR FAV O7D ITEM?
My favorite at the moment is White Fiorenza Cropped but I feel so guilty answering this, like I am betraying all other items that I love as well! PS. My all-time favorites are actually in SS21, can’t wait!
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO ACCOMPLISH IN 2021?
I want to finish all my unfinished art projects!
Işıl Öçal / Intern
I’m 22 years old and the youngest member of the O7D team! I’m a 4th year student in Yeditepe University studying English Language and Literature! I've been an intern at OhSevenDays for the last 4 months!
My job is really quite varied actually? I help out with packing daily orders, I also do product quality control and help with inventory organisation. I'm also a content creator and am frequently seen taking a mirror selfie or doing some flat-lay images for social media!
I’d say my style consists of loose fits, classy shapes and nice fabrics. Since I believe in the importance of having a unique style, I refuse to fit in trends as much as I can, and buy nearly none of fast fashion products. I try to reuse, reduce and recycle clothes. I think this is the only way to achieve a sustainable and unique style.
Since I’m also a university student, I keep up with my online classes the other days I’m not at the office. Other than that, I like to work out and I go jogging outside quite regularly. I'm also a keen cook and baker and have a recipe Instagram account called @isilcooks
First thing to do in the morning is check and pack the daily orders. If there’s no urgent work to do, I shoot content for the instagram or website. It might be quality control, sewing, pressing product codes, and so on. Besides all that work, we have a lot of fun during an average working day!
WHAT'S YOUR DREAM HOLIDAY?
To travel to a completely new city, walking the streets with no time restrictions and finding hidden gems along the way!

My 2021 goal would have to be to become a better version of myself! I want to feel more connected to myself and to nature more than before. I want to move more, eat cleaner, create and produce, learn more and appreciate this life more. I just want to be more in touched with who I really am. :)
